Driving Instructions from Tyler:
East on 31 to 135. Take 135 into Kilgore; turn south on hwy 259. Just past Kilgore College there will be a traffic light. Turn left (east) you are now on FM 1249 or Dudley Road headed east. Go approximately 9 miles until you come to the NEW HOPE sign, turn left onto 292 headed north, travel about one mile to 267D. Turn left onto 267D. Go straight until you dead-end at the BIG OAKS RANCH entry. If the gate is closed, punch in code # 5005 on the keypad. Cross the cattle guard and drive up the road, the house is on the left in the pasture.
Landmarks (from 259 it takes about 10 miles):
- Traveling from 259 east on Dudley Road, FM 1249 you will pass an EXXON gas station on the left at Higginbotham; keep going straight (East) on Dudley Road (FM 1249).
- Pass an oil well rig on the right, CR 192 on left, pass tan brick siding (low rent) apartments on the left, keep going straight.
- Come to the 4-way STOP at FM 2276; stop and keep going straight.
- Pass the Crossroads Methodist Church on the right; keep going straight.
- There will be several 40 & 50 mph curves after the church.
- At the end of the curves keep going, but start slowing down, at the top of a slight incline you will see a GREEN sign that says NEW HOPE on the right side of the road.
- At the sign, turn left onto CR 292 and travel north for one mile. You will pass two churches on the left and one church on the right and a cemetery on the left, keep going, but start slowing down.
- Just past the cemetery, turn left onto CR 267D.
- CR 267D dead-ends at our cattle guard. Congratulations! You have arrived!
The house is in the pasture to your left. Follow the road up to the house. You may park on the grass in front of the first set of double doors; there is an old bell beside the porch steps. We live in the first wing and mom and dad live in the second wing of the house. It looks like two houses.
