"Sorrel, Tobiano Mare, born Apr 29,
2002. 'Rose' is a full sister to 'Champ'. Rose's mother was
our best cow horse and is now in Junction TX on the
Bierschwale Ranch herding sheep and cattle. Rose has her
mother's attitude. She is feisty and a go getter. When I
need to move the cows NOW, or bring in a heifer/calf, I get
Rose. We warm up, practice our reining and stopping, then go
get them. She will point those ears and never let a cow
break free. She will cut them off and get them back in line.
I put more experienced riders on Rose, she wants to work and
go. I like her attitude. Rose is the quickest horse on Big
Oaks. She will beat any horse out of the box, but Dixie will
outrun her in the distance. Michael Jacobs is teaching Rose
to rope but we have not started her on cattle yet. Rose is
my best roping/cutting prospect of the fillies." |
