Brown and white, Tobinano Filly, 'Swift', Born May
6, 2010 around 11:00am. I camped out in the RV in the barnyard
watching the TV of Shadow's stall with an infrared camera. She
was due on 27 April and 9 days later I let her out at 6am and left
for work at 9:45am. She said "finally, I get to have this baby
outside the stall!!" Carletta found her with the baby later
that morning and led mom and baby into the stall. She did basic imprinting
that morning and again in the afternoon. Swift has the
best disposition and is the most friendly foal we have birthed
at Big Oaks Ranch. This is representative of Shots
Flying Spark and Shadow. We continued with her training
after May 9, 2010 when I arrived home.
On May 12th mom and
filly went to Dr Rob Thoni for their first checkup. Shadow and
Swift were doing great and are in superior physical condition.
Swift stood tied right beside Shadow during the checkup.
She was so calm and let Dr Thoni check her out.
